Lachman Consultants’ Vice President Ricki Chase joined Arnold & Porter to discuss the introduction of the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) including FDA’s authority to formalize good manufacturing practice (cGMP) requirements for the cosmetics industry. Webinar: Making Sense of the Changing Regulatory Landscape for Cosmetics
Tuesday, February 21, 2023
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM ET
Webinar Recording:
Below is the introduction to the webinar as provided on the Arnold & Porter website:
“The Food and Drug Omnibus Reform Act (FDORA), signed into law in December 2022, fundamentally changed the way the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates cosmetics. For the first time, cosmetics manufacturers will have to register with FDA, comply with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), file adverse event reports, and meet other requirements. FDA will also have new enforcement authorities, including mandatory recall authority and the power to suspend a company’s registration, prohibiting them from selling products.
In this webinar, Raqiyyah Pippins and Howard Sklamberg, from Arnold & Porter, and Ricki Chase, from Lachman Consultant Services, will explore the new requirements and provide tips on how companies should plan to comply. They will discuss the background for the new law, details regarding the new requirements, the timeline for implementation, cGMPs, the new environment for FDA inspections and compliance actions, and how to prepare for inspections.”
