Westbury, NY, March 2024 – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Leon Lachman, the esteemed founder and visionary leader of Lachman Consultant Services, Inc. Dr. Lachman passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2024.
Dr. Lachman was the namesake founder of Lachman Consultant Services, Inc., launching the company in 1978 and laying the groundwork for the innovative and impactful organization it is today. His passion, dedication, and pursuit of excellence have left an indelible mark not only on our company but also on the entire industry.
After over almost thirty 30 years at the helm of Lachman Consultant Services, Inc., Dr. Lachman stepped down as the CEO and continued his dedication as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. In 2014, Dr. Lachman transitioned out of his role as Chairman and continued to participate as an Outside Director to the Board. In 2023, Dr. Lachman officially retired as Chairman Emeritus, with comfort in knowing that the current Board of Directors and company leadership would continue to drive forward his legacy of quality and excellence.

Dr. Lachman was a prominent pharmaceutical scientist and educator known for his contributions to pharmaceutical technology. He co-authored the widely used textbook “The Theory and Practice of Industrial Pharmacy,” which has been a staple reference for students and professionals in the pharmaceutical industry for decades. Dr. Lachman’s work has significantly impacted pharmaceutical education and research, particularly in dosage form design, drug delivery systems, regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
In the wake of this loss, Lachman Consultant Services, Inc. remains committed to Dr. Lachman’s vision and will continue to uphold the values that he instilled upon our organization.
